A Patriotic Nation

Every faith asserts the nobility of being patriotic and loyal to his/her country. As such, every Lankan regardless of his/her religious or communal orientation is obligated to place the reputation, dignity welfare and the security of the country before everything else and strive for same. It is the duty of every Sri Lankan dedicating himself/herself to make the country prosperous and make it one of the most wealthiest nations and one of the best places to live in the world.

දේශපේ‍්‍රමී ජාතියක් 

සෑම ඇදහිල්ලක්ම දේශපේ‍්‍රමී වීමේ සහ ඔහුගේ/ඇයගේ රටට පක්ෂපාතී වීමේ උදාරත්වය අවධාරණය කරයි. ඒ නිසා සෑම ලාංකිකයෙක්ම සිය ආගමික හෝ වාර්ගික නැඹුරුව බාධාවක් නොකොට තම මාතෘ භූමියේ කීර්තිය, අභිමානය සුභසාධනය සහ ජාතික ආරක්ෂාව අන් සියල්ලටම වඩා පෙරදැරි කොට කටයුතු කිරීමට බැඳී සිටී. තම රට සමෘද්ධිමත් කර එය ලෝකයේ විශිෂ්ඨතම සහ ලොව වාසය කිරීමට හොඳම ස්ථානවලින් එකක් බවට පත් කිරීම සෑම ශ‍්‍රී ලාංකිකයෙකුගේම යුතුකමයි’

ஒருவன் தான் பிறந்த மண்ணை நேசிப்பதும், நாட்டின் மீது பற்றுக் கொள்வதும் உலகில் எல்லா மதங்களும் வலியுறுத்திய ஓர் உயர்ந்த பண்பாடாகும். எமது தாயக பூமியான இலங்கையை நேசிப்பதும், அதன் மீது பற்றுக்கொள்வதும், அதனைப் பாதுகாப்பதும், அதன் முன்னேற்றத்திற்காக உழைப்பதும், ஒவ்வொரு குடிமகனினதும் கடமையாகும்.

அந்தவகையில், நாட்டைக் கட்டியெழுப்புவதில் காத்திரமான பங்களிப்பை வழங்குதலும், எந்த சந்தர்ப்பத்திலும் அதன் நற்பெயரையும் கண்ணியத்தையும் பாதுகாப்பதும் எமது முக்கிய கடப்பாடாகும்.

இலங்கையை சமூக, பொருளாதார, அரசியல், பண்பாட்டு மறுமலர்ச்சி நிலவும் உன்னத தேசமாகக் கட்டியெழுப்பி, அபிவிருத்தியடையச் செய்து பல்வேறு துறைகளிலும் நாட்டை வளப்படுத்துவதில் நாம் அர்த்த பூர்வமாகப் பங்களிப்போம். நாட்டைக் கட்டியெழுப்பல் பிரஜைகளாகிய நம் அனைவரதும் கூட்டுப் பொறுப்பாகும்.

Eradicating terrorism and violence

No religion accepts or acknowledges injustice, oppression or lawlessness and therefore We Are One as an organization would not tolerate these with no regard to the clout of their originating source. We do not believe in the employ of violence or terror to win rights and we bank only on democratic ways. This fact we learned in the hard way during the separatist war that devastated our country for three decades.

However, words such as ‘terrorism’ and ‘terrorist’ are kept alive and manipulated by evil tyrannical powers in order to terrify and oppress the innocent and the frail to continue their exploitations. Yet few others use terrorism to bring about system changes in societies and administrations. Nevertheless, We Are One reject all forms of terrorism no matter if the ultimate objective is good or bad. As such, our organization would fully support the eradication of terrorism and violence from our Motherland.

Guiding the Youth, the Driving Force of the Nation

The creative power of a society and its future betterment lies in the strength of the youth of that society.

Any society focuses on the formation of its youth, most certainly that society will be better off in the future. Speed, courage, truth, honesty and innovation are inherent features of the youth and when properly disciplined, they always would be a creative and dynamic force. We believe that youth is not a destructive force, but a constructive force if properly guided. We focus on building a noble human civilization. Therefore, a worthy generation of youth should be created.

It is our expectation to create a vibrant younger generation that observes moral culture and has proper behavior, serious while being neutral, motivated and with a clear vision and a mission. They shall be capable of facing tomorrow's challenges and be proud of their own achievements. Our organization is poised to make a huge contribution to attain this end.

Empowering Women for Social Progression

We believe that promoting good and preventing evil ought to be a joint activity of both men and women. Men and women both ought to make the other meaningful and wholesome in the social life and family life. Hence, in the creation of human civilization no one can deny or underestimate the role of women. Therefore, she is should be given an opportunity to fully provide her involvement along side her opposite sex while taking her inherent restraints into consideration.

As human beings, women have the same rights and duties as men and women do not much differ from men in executing these offices. However, we acknowledge the fact that her role could be slightly different to that of the man. Yet in most areas women could contribute equally like men and even better and in a unique way provided they are given the opportunity. Could any one argue that her roles in a family in capacities of a wife, mother, daughter, sister could be imitated by men? This is indicative that women obviously possess the might to function as the pivot shaft in running the family. A country could be phenomenally benefitted if it is prepared to make use of these inborn skills of women in areas such as politics, economy, education, culture, health, art and other sciences. No restriction should be imposed on her. Our aim is to bring out the fullest potential of the women for the profit of the nation in addition to her contribution to the society and the homestead.

Children, the Leaders of Tomorrow

Since today's children are tomorrow's leaders, they are our most valuable assets. According to Article 1 of the International Children's Charter any citizen under the age of eighteen, male or female, is defined as a child.

According to the above Charter, children's rights, their role in the social activities, their needs and protection should be given topmost priority. They are the seeds that should be sown with loving care today for a better future tomorrow.

It is regrettable to notice that the affluent kids get the most and the best while poor, orphans, the differently abled and the underprivileged are ignored even though many of them have the potential to become excellent scholars and skillful professional if given the opportunity. It is our unwavering position that children of all walks of life should be given equal opportunities while granting their rights and appreciating their views. This is an obligation of the society which is asserted during International Children’s Day every year.

Political Parties and their activities

Politics, we believe is an inseparable matter from the human life. Although political parties are created with various goals, conceptually, establishment of the rule of law, freedom, development, education, economic prosperity, poverty alleviation etc are expected to attain through political activities. Therefore, we believe that upright political activities should go beyond religious and communal considerations. We Are One is poised to support any political party if its genuine aim is the welfare of the country.
